I am pretty appalled and disgusted with both the Democrats and the Republicans. Was senile Joe Biden really the best candidate that the Democrats could come up with in 2020? And for that matter, was Know-nothing Flim-Flam Man Donald Trump the best the Republicans could muster in 2016? Is it really wise to put Senior Citizens Creaking with Age into the White House? Don't get me started on anyone else.
Since YOU, Gentle Reader, visit my Blog for Wisdom and Advice, I will be glad to tell you what to do about your vote this year. It really sort of depends on where you live, but in the USA, it's likely that your voting district is one of the following:
A) Swing District – Not owned by Democrats, Republicans or another Party.
Advice:
Cool! Keep living where you are living, get informed about the issues, and vote your conscience.
B) Democrat-Owned-District (DOD) – The Democrats win at every level, every year, no matter what.
Advice:
If you are a happy Democrat, get informed about the issues and vote your conscience.
If you are a Republican or otherwise unhappy about this, see Alternate Advice Below.
C) Republican-Owned-District (ROD) – The Republicans win at every level, every year, no matter what.
Advice:
If you are a happy Republican, get informed about the issues and vote your conscience.
If you are a Democrat or otherwise unhappy about this, see Alternate Advice Below.
Alternate Advice:
If you are reading this, you probably live in a district that always votes opposite from the way you do. You may feel that voting is futile. If so, I would like to suggest an alternative;
Pick a third party-- Libertarians, Greens, whoever-- and vote for their candidates whenever possible.
You will be told that you are throwing away your vote. Nothing could be further from the truth. A vote for a Third Party is a vote for a future in which there are more than two parties. The two major parties believe that they own the voting process, and they collude to repress news about any third party.
Third parties need your vote to be put on the ballot. In many states, there is a minimum percentage requirement of votes in the previous election to get on the ballot of the next one.
When you vote for a third party in a state that is owned by one mega-party or another, you are using your vote to help the future of the country by opening up new possibilities.
It's my opinion that, if you vote Republican in a Democrat-Owned State, or vote Democrat in a Republican-Owned-State, you are throwing away your vote. Look into the platforms of the Third Parties. If you find one you like better than the Dems or Reps, vote for them. It will send a message. Maybe someday, the message will be heard.
